The brief

A great reputation, held back by a hard form.

Bramley Garage Doors is an independent specialist in Morley, covering Leeds and West Yorkshire for more than 25 years. Their reputation is excellent, but the old website made people work too hard to ask for a quote.

The goal of the rebuild was simple: make it effortless for a homeowner to go from “my garage door needs sorting” to “Bramley will call me back”.

What we did

  • Rebuilt the website from the ground up
  • Designed a guided quote system
  • Brought real Google reviews front and centre
  • Host, maintain and support it day to day
  • 4.9Rating on Google
  • 43Google reviews
  • 25+Years in business

Before and after: the homepage

Tidy, but it didn't sell.

Drag to compare the old homepage with the new one.

The new Bramley homepage: Quality Garage Doors Across Leeds & West Yorkshire, with a quote bar, the Google rating and 25+ years
The old Bramley homepage: a photo of a garage and car, a short intro and service cards with no pictures
  1. The products had no pictures

The six service cards were a title and a Find out more button, with no images of the doors themselves.

  2. Reviews didn't carry their weight

Bramley has dozens of glowing Google reviews, but the homepage showed three one-line quotes with no rating or count.

  3. No phone number in the header

For a local trade where many customers would rather just ring, the number was tucked away in the footer.

Before and after: the quote

No tape measure needed.

The old form on one long page, against the first step of the new one.

Step 1 of 5 of the new quote: What do you need? with four simple options and a postcode box
The old quick quote form: one long page of required fields including garage width and height, a privacy tick box and a captcha
  1. The old form asked for measurements

Garage width and height were required, alongside door size, type, remote, a privacy tick box and a captcha. Most homeowners don't know their door's measurements, so many simply gave up.

  2. The new one asks one thing at a time

Two easy questions to start, a progress bar, and a promise up front: “We measure precisely on the free survey. It takes about a minute.”

UX decisions

Every decision, and why we made it.

Each change does one of three things: start the quote sooner, make it easier to finish, or give people a reason to trust Bramley.

  1. A quote starts on the homepage

The hero has a quote bar built in: “What do you need?” and “Your postcode”, then Start my quote.

Why it worksThe visitor begins the form before they've decided to fill one in. Two easy answers lower the barrier, and once someone has started they're far more likely to finish.

The homepage hero with a quote bar: What do you need, your postcode, Start my quote
  2. One question at a time

The quote page is a five-step flow with a progress bar, instead of one long form.

Why it worksA long form looks like hard work. Small steps feel quick, and the progress bar tells people exactly how close they are to the end.

Step 1 of 5: Let's get you a quote, with four options and a progress bar
  3. Plain-English choices

Door styles are explained in a few words (“One piece that tilts up”, “Panels that lift straight up”), with a “Not sure, we'll advise you” option.

Why it worksHomeowners don't know trade terms. Describing what the door does, and offering a safe “not sure”, means nobody gets stuck.

Step 2 of 5: Which style of door do you like? Up and over, side hinged, sectional, roller or not sure
  4. Every route to contact, one tap away

The phone number and opening hours sit in the header, WhatsApp and photo uploads sit beside the quote, and on mobile a sticky bar keeps Call and Get a Free Quote under the thumb.

Why it worksSome customers want a form and some want to talk. Offering both, everywhere, means Bramley never loses someone who's ready to act.

  5. Social proof in the first screen

“4.9 on Google, 43 reviews” and “25+ years” sit in the hero, with a carousel of real Google reviews further down.

Why it worksA garage door is a big, trust-led purchase. Real reviews from local people, shown early, do more than any sales copy.

What our customers say: rated 4.9 from 43 reviews on Google, with three full reviews
  6. A quote button on every product

Each door type and service card has its own Quote button next to View range.

Why it worksThe moment someone finds the door they like is the moment they're most ready to ask for a price, so the next step is right there.

Choose Your Garage Door: four door types with photos, each with View range and Quote buttons
  7. A clear, reassuring process

“From quote to fitted, without the hassle” walks through four steps: tell us what you need, free survey, expert fitting, aftercare.

Why it worksPeople are more comfortable committing when they know exactly what happens next.

From quote to fitted, without the hassle: four numbered steps on a line
  8. A fast path for urgent problems

A dedicated “Garage door stuck? Send us a photo.” panel covers springs, cables and emergency call-outs.

Why it worksRepair customers arrive stressed and in a hurry. Their own fast path catches high-intent jobs that a general quote form would slow down.

  9. Built for local search

An “Areas we cover” map, pages for Leeds and West Yorkshire, and FAQs that answer what people actually search for.

Why it worksMost garage door customers search locally. Clear coverage and helpful answers help Bramley show up and win those searches.

Fantastic service from Richard and his team at Bramley Garage Doors. I was provided with a hassle free quote which could not be said for other garage door providers.
